Me- Yes, but I think you have enough out to play with now. All these things will need to be cleaned up when you're done.
E- It's okay, Mom. We'll clean it up, I promise!
An hour later...
Me- Ok, Lovies, time to clean up so that we can have lunch.
E- You can clean it up, Mom. That's way too much stuff for me.
When they are playing well together I try my best not to interrupt, and they were both playing so pleasantly. I didn't want to squelch their imaginations with limiting their props, but, well, it really was a lot. The aftermath led to a reinforcement of the practice that the family works together to maintain the house. The idea that mom and dad are the only ones who clean up is none existent around here.
Many hands make light work.
